Promote Your Site For Free

Promoting a website can be an expensive undertaking, but it doesn’t h ave to be. There are actually a lot of methods for marketing your website that don’t have a monetary cost associated with them. While there isn’t a monetary cost, you will still have to spend some time implementing these methods, however, the yield is worth the effort.

Article Marketing

Article marketing is a great way to promote a website, especially when you’re first starting out. All you have to do is spend some time writing some articles that run about 300 words long, and then submit them to article directories. Make sure the articles you’re writing are directly relevant to your niche. Most article directories will give you a place to put a signature that should contain a link to your website. If not, be sure to add a link to your site somewhere in the article itself.

Social Media

Facebook alone has over 500 million users spanning every age group and demographic you can imagine. Throw in Twitter, Youtube, and all the other social media sites people use every day, and you will have access to a large audience worth marketing to, no matter what niche you’re in. Just remember, social media users want to have a conversation with other users. You have to talk with them, not at them. If you just post link after link to your site, and you don’t engage in a discussion with other users, you won’t get very far with social media.

SEO

SEO, or search engine optimization, is an extremely complicated process, and we’re not going to attempt to cover all of it here, but there are a few tips you can keep in mind to help drive search traffic to your website. Be sure to give each page on your site a title that reflects the content on that page. The first thing a search engine sees is the information contained in the title tags, so that one is extremely important. From there, be sure to use keywords relevant to your niche on each page on your site, and name your images in a descriptive way. Doing these few simple things can help to drive more search traffic to your site.

There are a lot of ways to generate traffic to your website. Start with these three methods, and adjust your strategy to suit your needs once you’re up and running. You will have to spend some time on each of these methods, but you won’t have to spend any money, which is great, especially when you’re just starting out.
